Flyer issued by The John A. Mead Club of Rutland promoting Mead's candidacy for Governor. Mead was the sitting Lieutenant Governor and the club lists eight other men who were previously "promoted by the People after apprenticeship in the Lieutenant Governorship:" Horace Eaton, Ryland Fletcher, Paul Dillingham, Redfield Proctor, John L. Barstow, Samuel E. Pingree, Ebenezer J. Ormsbee, and George H. Prouty. The flyer also lists three Mead Club officers: President Henry O. Carpenter, Secretary Walter A. Clark, and Treasurer Fred. A. Field.
