Wooster Store, Now Marshfield Village Store
Title
Wooster Store, Now Marshfield Village Store
Description
The store has been in business since it was constructed in 1864 by George and Frank Wooster, who were business partners for 63 years.
In 1891 they sold it to Elbridge Gilman who operated it as a general merchandise store for about 15 years, then as a drug store until his death in 1938. His grandson Vaughn then operated it as a grain store and gas station until 1947.
Later owners—operating it as a grocery/hardware store were Bill and Dot Hoel, the Rathburns, the Booths, then Jean and John Bernek. It is now owned by Ken and Ciara (Roberts) Phillips. There still exists a three-story outhouse structure on the back of the building.
