Description

A monument to Daniel P. Thompson (1795-1868), author of The Green Mountain Boys and other works, was dedicated by the DAR on May 25, 1929. Dorman B.E. Kent (1875-1951), librarian of the Vermont Historical Society, gave an address and stands at the far left of th photograph. The stone was erected on the Thompson farm, which at that point was owned by the Marvin family. The monument is still located in front of Dosha Salon and Day Spa at 370 River Street, Montpelier (2021).
